ISLAND HOSPICE TALK

Feb 29, 2024 | Uncategorized

On behalf of our Hindu Society, Dhirubhai Parbhoo and Prabhaben Parbhoo accepted the Island Hospice Organisation’s invite to their monthly Meeting of CARE Givers.

It is such a nice way of learning about each other’s cultures and religious practices especially on the topic of death within our families.

During the presentation, most aspects of our Sanathan Dharma (religious practices) were covered and explanation of the reincarnation process during the time of death, our religious rites performed at the time of death and the cremation service performed by a priest and community helpers. Hopefully the participants at the meeting will now have a better understanding of our religion, the funeral procedure and the period of mourning.

The Hindu Society takes this opportunity to congratulate Island Hospice in doing a wonderful job to look after the Zimbabwean community in providing palliative care and medical assistance, and wish them well in keeping up their great work.
