A Bhajan Samelan of the Harare Bhajan Mandals was held on Sunday 21 July 2024 at the Omkar Mandir in Ridgeview. This coincided with an auspicious day, Guru Purnima.
The last Bhajan Samelan, which included Bhajan Groups around the country, took place in Bulawayo in 2018 – a very long time since we have had any form of group Bhajan together of this nature. Weekly Bhajan sessions held by various groups is one of the few activities that covers the widest age groups from 3 year olds to our very senior citizens. It was inspiring to see such a large number of young children, varying in ages, participating and singing so melodiously. Also encouraging was the attendees, numbering more than 300, who enjoyed spending their Sunday morning listening to devotional songs.
The Bhajan Groups participating were: Hindu Bhajan Mandal, Mahila Mandal, Satya Sai Baba Centre, Art of Living, Shishu/Yuvak Bhajan Mandal and Pushpanjali Bhajan Mandal.
